Will chip prices continuously increase?
Yes, the chip prices will continuously increase. The prices of the chips related to our products have increased 50%-300% already.
Can you still get the chips?
We can still get limited amount of chips from our suppliers, however we can’t guarantee the future supply.
How is the situation going?
The chip manufacturing leader TSMC’s orders are full by the end of 2022, and customers are now booking their production capacity of 2023. The shortage will be more serious in the future. It can be determined that the production capacity will be tight until the end of 2022 at least, and the demand in 2023 will continue to be hot.
At present, all chips and production capacity are in serious shortage although it’s still under COVID epidemic situation. After the global economic activities resume in the future, the subsequent demand is even more unimaginable.
Why are the chips in such serious shortage?
The COVID epidemic has accelerated the digital application transformation, including notebooks and servers, 5G smart phones, WiFi Netcom devices, automotive electronics and other home appliances have exploded growth. In addition, natural disasters have caused the chip production stop and limited production capacity. All these factors have resulted in such a shortage of chips.
